125+ Women Register for Texas Elite Spartans Open Tryout as Demand for Women’s Tackle Football Surges

For the first time in Texas Elite Spartans history, registration for our annual open tryout is at maximum capacity. More than 125 women signed up for the opportunity to compete for a roster spot with the Spartans, forcing the organization to close registration early due to overwhelming demand.
That number represents more than a packed tryout field. It represents where women’s football is going.
Across the country, more girls and women are choosing football. Flag football is creating unprecedented exposure and access to the game, while interest in tackle football continues to grow among athletes looking for the opportunity to compete at the highest level.
For the Texas Elite Spartans, we are seeing that growth firsthand. Women from different athletic backgrounds, experience levels and communities are showing up for an opportunity that generations before them simply did not have: the chance to earn a spot on an elite women’s tackle football team and pursue the game seriously.
125+ women. One tryout. A limited number of roster spots. The competition will be intense, but the bigger victory is already clear. Women want to play football.
The athletes are here. The demand is growing. And the future of women’s tackle football is as bright as it has ever been!
Registration is closed. Competition starts now. #BEELITE
