The #2 team in the nation, Texas Elite Spartans, hosts their final home game of the season against the Houston Mambas this Saturday in Coppell. Kickoff at 7 PM CT—don’t miss it!

Coppell, TX – May 10, 2025

It’s more than a game. It’s a celebration. It’s The Village.

This Saturday, May 10, the Texas Elite Spartans, the #2-ranked team in the nation and #1 in the Central Division in the WNFC, return home for one last time in the 2025 regular season. In a powerful close to their home slate, they’ll face the Houston Mambas under the lights at Coppell West Middle School in front of their fans, families, and community of supporters.

“The Village” Game: A Celebration of Community

This game will honor the heartbeat of the Spartans, their community. The team’s theme night, “The Village,” is a full celebration of the people who make the mission possible:

  • Corporate partners like the Fibroid Institute of Texas

  • Individual player sponsors who directly support athletes’ seasons

  • Families and fans who bring the energy every week (especially our mothers - Happy Mothers Day)

Expect on-field recognitions, community moments, and a spirit of gratitude that matches the Spartans’ intensity on the gridiron.

“We call it The Village because none of this happens without the people who believe in us,” says Head Coach and league founder Odessa Jenkins. “This is our way of saying thank you—with football, family, and fire.”

Elite on the Field: Four-Game Win Streak & Dominant Numbers

After a Week 1 stumble, the Spartans have looked unbeatable, stacking four straight wins with a combined score of 159–6. The offense is averaging 34.6 points per game, while the defense is surrendering just 5.2 per contest.

Offensive Leaders:

  • Michelle Angel (QB): 13 TDs, 605 passing yards, 100.3 rating

  • Destanie Yarbrough (RB): 313 rushing yards, 5 TDs

  • Summer McNeal & Maria Jackson (WRs): 25 catches, 344 yards, 5 TDs combined

Defensive Stars:

  • Deana Simmons-Guidry: 19.5 tackles, 9 TFLs, 1 INT, 1 FR

  • Christine Mason, Whitney Palmer, and Amber Kimbrough: Leading a front seven that dominates the line of scrimmage

  • Secondary: Four different players with interceptions, including Shantia Creech (2 INTs) and Jewelle Grimsley (1 INT, 1 TD return), Jamie Lock (1 INT)

Special Teams & Momentum

Special teams play has also been a quiet weapon. Ashley McBay and Jamie Lock have provided spark in the return game, while kicker Cara Wesemann has converted 20 of 24 PATs, consistently giving the offense that extra point of payoff.

Why This Game Matters

This is your last chance to watch Texas’ winningest professional football team at home in 2025, and they’re on the verge of a deep playoff run. With a win, the Spartans lock in momentum and could claim the #1 national ranking heading into the postseason.

It’s a night for fans, for media, and for the city of Coppell and surrounding DFW area to show out and celebrate Dallas women’s sports at the highest level.

Call to Action

DFW football fans, community leaders, media, and supporters, this is your moment.

The Spartans have proven they are championship contenders. Now it’s time for The Village to rise behind them. Let’s pack Coppell West and send this team into the playoffs with the full force of Texas pride behind them.
