This is the Her Legacy Game: Honoring Every Woman Who Built the Game.
Tonight will feature the largest gathering of women’s tackle football pioneers in Texas history as generations of athletes, coaches, and leaders come together to celebrate the women who built this sport long before the cameras arrived.
Legacy athletes from the Houston Herricanes, Dallas Bluebonnets, and OKC Dolls will be honored in attendance alongside current WNFC stars, youth athletes, varsity girls flag players, and the next generation of women changing the future of football.
These women played for the love of the game when there were no sponsorships, no media deals, and no guarantees. Tonight, we honor their sacrifice, their toughness, and their belief that women deserved a place in football.
And while tonight is about legacy, make no mistake… This game is going to be a battle. The Kansas City Glory are the last team to beat the Spartans. Last season, Kansas City shocked the football world with a 20-14 victory over Texas Elite, forcing turnovers, controlling the tempo, and proving they could go toe-to-toe with one of the greatest dynasties in women’s football history.
Now they return to Arlington looking to do it again.
Texas Elite enters tonight undefeated at 4-0, averaging 34 points per game while allowing only 3 points per game all season. Kansas City comes in 3-1, fresh off handing the San Diego Rebellion their first loss of the year and carrying one of the most dangerous rushing attacks in the country.
At the center of tonight’s showdown is the matchup everybody will be watching:
Maria Fautali vs. Tara “Turbo” Thomas.
Fautali has been nearly unstoppable this season, leading the league with 524 rushing yards, 9 touchdowns, and an incredible 10.1 yards per carry. One crease is all she needs to change a game.
But Turbo has been the engine behind the Spartans offense all year long, punishing defenders, controlling tempo, and delivering explosive plays in critical moments. She enters tonight with 415 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns while helping anchor one of the most balanced offenses in football. This is more than a running back battle. It is a clash of styles.
