The Texas Elite Spartans took another commanding step toward defending their championship Thursday night, defeating the Atlanta Truth 28-6 in the WNFC Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
With the victory, the Spartans advance to the Eastern Conference Championship Game on Saturday, June 6 at 7:00 p.m. ET at Cardinal Stadium on the campus of Catholic University of America, where they will face the Washington Prodigy in a highly anticipated rematch of the 2025 IX Cup Championship Game.
Texas wasted no time asserting its dominance.
The Spartans came out red hot, scoring three first-half touchdowns behind a historic performance from running back Tara "Turbo" Thomas, who delivered one of the most explosive opening halves in recent WNFC playoff history. Thomas consistently broke through the Atlanta defense, setting the tone for a Spartans offense that controlled the game from the opening kickoff.
While the offense put points on the board, the Spartans defense delivered another championship-caliber performance.

The #1 Defense in the WNFC blanked Atlanta for nearly the entire contest, suffocating the Truth offense for more than 59 minutes. The Spartans swarmed to the football, dominated the line of scrimmage, and allowed just a late touchdown in the final minutes after the outcome had long been decided.
From start to finish, the Spartans controlled every phase of the game, showing the balance, discipline, and physicality that has made them one of the premier programs in women's football.
Now comes the biggest challenge of the season.
Standing between Texas and its seventh appearance in the IX Cup Championship Game, and a trip home to Frisco, Texas is the Washington Prodigy, a talented opponent seeking revenge after falling to the Spartans 21-19 in last year's title game.
The stakes could not be higher. A victory would send Texas back to the IX Cup Championship at The Star in Frisco and keep alive its quest for another national title run.
