Lewisville, Texas -- The Texas Elite Spartans announced today details for the team's annual Pride Night celebration on Saturday, April. 30 against the Washington Prodigy.
Throughout the evening Elite Women's Football Alliance of Dallas will be recognizing prominent LGBTQ+ Icons and Allies of the queer community. More information on these Icons who have made a lasting impact on our program and the DFW community can be found here.
Spartans linebacker and San Antonio-based artist Sa'Mari Facey has partnered with the Elite Women's Football Alliance of Dallas to design a one-of-a-kind graphic that will be featured on fan gear as well as the Spartans Game Jerseys on Pride Night. "Being a part of the LGBTQ+ community for almost 20 years, celebrating PRIDE has always been something meaningful to me. PRIDE has allowed me to celebrate being comfortable and free in my own skin but also honor those who have been victims of hate crimes, inequality and other senseless acts. Partnering with the Texas Elite Spartans to design the limited edition PRIDE jersey was truly an honor. Designing the jersey allowed me to put my love and support for our community; inspiration for our youth and individuals who struggle with loving who they truly are; as well as the pain we’ve endured over the years all into a form of art." said Facey.
The team will wear special Pride-themed jerseys during the game. All jerseys will be auctioned off at Elite Women's Football Pride Night Jersey Auction. Proceeds collected from the Pride Night t-shirt, authentic game jersey auction and the Elite Women's Football 50/50 Raffle will benefit the Texas Elite Spartans travel to the Atlantic Conference Playoff Tournament being held June in Jacksonville, FL.
