The Texas Elite Spartans have once again proven why they are one of the most dominant franchises in women's football history. After a season-opening loss to the Kansas City Glory on March 29, many questioned whether the Spartans' reign at the top was in jeopardy. But what followed was one of the most electrifying regular season runs in WNFC history.
The Spartans reeled off five straight wins, ending the 2025 regular season with a 5-1 record and the most points scored by any team in the WNFC this year, a staggering 234 points across six games. With a perfect blend of resilience, talent, and championship culture, Texas enters the playoffs as one of the most dangerous teams in the nation.
From Setback to Surge

Following their 20-14 loss to Kansas City in Week 1, the Spartans responded with authority:
42-0 win vs Seattle Majestics
39-0 shutout at Los Angeles Legends
27-6 statement win over then-#1 Mississippi Panthers
51-0 rout of the Denver Bandits
61-0 domination of the Houston Mambas
In that span, Texas averaged 46.8 points per game and allowed just 1.2 points per contest, a level of dominance that echoes the franchise’s championship DNA.
Rebuilt!
This year’s success is even more impressive given the adversity the Spartans faced off the field. With key retirements, injuries, and offseason departures through free agency, most teams would have crumbled. Instead, the Spartans reloaded.
Led by veteran quarterback Michelle Angel, the offense found new rhythm and explosiveness. Angel, known for her command and efficiency, has thrived with a potent run game behind Destanie Yarborough and Janice Mitchell. Together, the Spartans have created one of the most balanced offenses in the league, averaging 152.8 rushing yards and 130.8 passing yards per game.
On the defensive side, Texas suffocated opponents, allowing only 4.33 points per game, the lowest differential since the 2021 season.
Comparing Greatness: 2025 vs Past Seasons
Let’s put 2025 in historical context. While the Spartans went undefeated in 2022 (9-0), their 2025 scoring average of 39 points per game is their highest ever in a regular season. The 234 points scored is the single-season franchise record.
Year | Record | PPG | PAPG |
2025 | 5-1 | 39.0 | 4.3 |
2024 | 5-1 | 27.2 | 7.0 |
2023 | 6-0 | 32.5 | 7.5 |
2022 | 9-0 | 31.6 | 6.1 |
2021 | 6-0 | 52.0 | 0.0 |
While the 2021 team posted more shutouts, the 2025 Spartans showcased the deepest offensive arsenal in years, punctuated by a season-high 61 points in the finale, the most by any WNFC team in 2025.
Now, It’s Playoff Time — And We Need Our Village.
With the regular season complete, the Spartans are playoff-bound for the sixth straight year, likely as the #1 seed in the Central Division. That means we're headed west, to Portland for a three-day playoff tournament that will decide the Western Conference Champion and determine who gets a shot at the IX Cup.
To make this journey possible, we need your help.
The Texas Elite Spartans are kicking off our annual Playoff Hour-a-Thon fundraiser, and we’re calling on our community, our village to rally behind us. Over 500 fans have already donated, helping raise $27,000 of our $35,000 goal. These funds will cover flights, hotel accommodations, and ground transportation for our full roster and staff.
Your contribution allows our athletes to focus fully on training, preparation, and performance.
